When I see this house...oh the memories it brings back! Happy memories, some sad memories but most of all it brings a feeling of love. Lots and lots of love. This was my Papaw & Granny's home. It is where we ate plenty of meals, chased our cousins, played in the garden, helped pick vegetables...never did I walk in those doors did I ever not once receive a hug and kiss from all those inside. Since Papaw went to be with Jesus over 4 years ago & Granny is now living in the nursing home, the house sold last week. I couldn't put my finger on why I just wasn't feeling right all day, I wasn't mad but somewhere during the day it hit me I was just sad...then my cousin Dylan posted this picture and I just cried.
This is my sweet Granny looking out her kitchen window for the last time. Where she is standing is where the kitchen table sat. A table that was always covered with lots of wonderful home grown, home made food. If I close my eyes I can still smell how amazing it all was. What is she looking at? Is is just a simple yard back there?? oh no! it was their gardens...not just one but 4 large gardens. Many years ago they bought the lot behind their house and planted gardens on it. Papaw and Granny worked so hard on those gardens and grew so much wonderful food. Their children, grandchildren, friends, neighbors all benefited from those gardens. They never sold a piece of food from them...they gave it all away..and boy was it delicious!!
I can go on and on..and start crying again but when I think of a house full of love..this is one of the first ones that comes to mind! I love you Papaw & Granny!! Thank you for showing me how to really be loved!
